Since 2018, Age Care Bathrooms has been making homes safe and accessible for older and disabled people across England and Wales. Age Care Pro takes that same craft — and the same no-subcontractor, no-shortcuts standards — to the organisations that commission adaptations every day.
It started at home
Age Care Pro's roots are personal. When founder Sam's grandmother, Barbara, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease, her condition moved fast — she needed a full mobility wetroom within six months. Sam was working in the mobility industry as a subcontractor at the time, so he and the family fitted her bathroom themselves, putting her safety and dignity first.
A second hard lesson
Soon after, Sam's grandfather William — "Billy Pud" to his friends — was diagnosed with dementia. The family came together again, installing stairlifts and a mobility bathroom for him. Living these changes from the inside showed Sam exactly what families need, and what the industry too often gets wrong.
Building a better way
Working on his grandparents' homes, Sam had seen the mobility trade's worst habits up close — pushy salespeople, thin product ranges, and jobs that dragged on for weeks. So in 2018 he founded Age Care Bathrooms to do the opposite: directly-employed teams instead of subcontractors, most installations finished in three to four days, and a genuine focus on comfort, dignity and independence at home. Today the business is a Which? Trusted Trader, SafeContractor approved, and rated 4.8/5 on Google.
Why we started Age Care Pro
Care homes, local councils and occupational therapists kept coming to us with the same problem: adaptations they had commissioned were being subcontracted out, delivered late, and built to a spec that didn't match the clinical assessment. They wanted the directly-employed, right-first-time approach we'd built for families — but at estate scale, with the documentation and accountability a professional contract demands. Age Care Pro is our answer: one accountable team for care homes, Disabled Facilities Grant work for councils, and adaptations built exactly to OT and case-manager spec.
